We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Ludlow to recruit a Practice Accountant to join their high-achieving team.
The successful candidate will be involved throughout the accounting process, from preparing accounts and tax computations through to liaising directly with clients and HMRC. The role would suit an ACA/ACCA qualified accountant, as well as AAT-qualified, newly qualified or part-qualified candidates with relevant practice experience.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing accounts from incomplete accounting records
- Preparing business and corporation tax computations
- Working with accounting software including Xero, Sage and QuickBooks
- Corresponding with clients and external agencies, including HMRC
- Visiting client premises where required to undertake accounting and computer-based functions
- Building strong working relationships with a portfolio of owner-managed businesses
- Working closely with Managers, Directors and Partners
- Ensuring client deadlines and requirements are met

About You
The practice is open to candidates at a range of qualification levels and is keen to hear from individuals who are looking to develop their career within accountancy practice. You will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a similar accountancy practice role
- ACA or ACCA qualification, ideally with at least two years' post-qualification experience Applications are also welcomed from AAT-qualified, newly qualified and part-qualified accountants
- Experience preparing accounts and tax computations
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Xero, Sage or QuickBooks would be advantageous
Experience across any industry sector will be considered.

- £25,000–£35,000 salary, dependent on skills and experience
