About the Role

This is a fantastic role for an ambitious senior accountant looking for a senior role in a forward-thinking accountancy practice.

Brabner Fox is partnering with a growing Accountancy firm based in Cheshire looking for a Senior Accountant.

I’m looking for a client-driven operator with extensive experience in accounting for SMEs, excellent managerial skills, a strong understanding of business operations, and digital fluency. This is a hands-on role with client-facing accounting work for a portfolio of clients. As this exciting business continues to grow, so will your role and responsibilities.

This is a Hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities and Involvements

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements and tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices
  • Taking over an existing client book and managing new client onboarding
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, harnessing technology solutions where relevant
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment
  • Collaborate with company leadership to develop and execute growth strategies, including identifying new business opportunities and enhancing existing service offerings
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice, including resource allocation, workflow management, and performance evaluation
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
  • Digitally fluent with different accountancy software’s i.e. FreeAgent & Xero, but also practice management software (Engager).
  • Liaising regularly with clients over phone and email
  • Maintaining client relationships for retention and referrals
  • Anti-Money Laundering Compliance

  • ACA / ACCA / AAT Qualified Accountant / QBE
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working for an Accountancy Practice with 1 year's portfolio management
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including preparing accounts to FRS 102 1A
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor junior staff
  • Fully up to date with applicable laws, legislation & regulations
  • Complaint handling and resolution
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to client service
