Client-Focused Accountancy Practice in North London, South Hampstead
Accounts, Tax & Advisory Exposure
Fancy a role where you're not just churning through compliance work, but actually building something with your clients?
We're working with a well-regarded, growing accountancy practice on the hunt for an ambitious Senior Accountant. If you're ACA or ACCA qualified (or nearly there) and want more from your next move than another set of accounts to sign off, this is worth a proper look.
Why this one's different
Plenty of Senior roles are heads-down compliance. This isn't one of them. You'll get real exposure across accounts, tax, management information and advisory work, and you'll be working directly alongside Partners and Directors who actually want you developing, not just delivering.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Getting stuck into management accounts, budgets, forecasts and cashflow work
- Reviewing bookkeeping and helping clients keep their own systems in good shape
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and other compliance work
- Corporation tax computations, deferred tax, and some personal tax
- Giving clients genuinely useful commercial insight, not just number crunching
- Building relationships where clients see you as their go-to adviser, not just their accountant
- Reviewing trainees' work and helping them come on
- Juggling deadlines across a varied portfolio without dropping the ball
- Working alongside tax, audit and specialist teams to get the best outcome for clients

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
