Accountant – fast growth business
Location: London – Hybrid
Salary: £50k-£60k – lots of opportunity for growth
Are you a qualified accountant who wants your own client portfolio, real ownership and a clear path up as the business grows? This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing business whose Accountancy-as-a-Service team is scaling quickly.
The role
You'll report into the Head of Finance for this growing business and look after your own portfolio of SME, start-up and owner-managed clients. You'll be their main point of contact and trusted advisor, covering everything from bookkeeping review to year-end accounts and tax. You'll also help shape how the team delivers its services as it grows.
What you'll be doing
- Managing your own portfolio of SME, start-up and owner-managed clients
- Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns, VAT returns and directors' Self-Assessment returns
- Reviewing bookkeeping and bank reconciliations
- Producing management accounts and helping clients understand how they're performing
- Advising clients on profit extraction, cash flow and financial best practice
- Onboarding new clients, including setting up their accounting systems and processes
- Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital for VAT and Income Tax
- Managing statutory deadlines so every filing goes in accurately and on time
- Mentoring and reviewing the work of junior colleagues
- Helping build internal guidance and templates, and improving processes, tools and client education

What you'll bring

- Fully qualified: ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent
- Broad experience from practice or in-house, enough to run the full accounting cycle on your own
- Strong working knowledge of FRS 102/105, corporation tax, VAT and Self Assessment
- Confident talking to clients, with a practical, commercial approach to advice
- Organised enough to handle a busy portfolio and multiple deadlines
- Happy to share what you know and support the wider team
