About the job
We're looking for an experienced accountant to take ownership of a varied client portfolio and play a key role in the continued growth of the practice. For the right person, this role offers a long-term career path as the practice grows. You'll inherit an established portfolio of owner managed businesses across a wide range of sectors, acting as their main point of contact and trusted advisor. You'll manage your clients from start to finish. Day to day, that means:
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A), sole traders, and partnerships
- Preparing corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns
- Handling VAT returns and advising on VAT treatment
- Managing your files from start to finish, producing work that is ready for partner review with minimal rework
- Building strong client relationships, managing expectations, and communicating proactively
- Mentoring and supporting the development of junior team members
- Staying current with regulatory changes, including MTD for Income Tax
- Contributing to the practice's growth by identifying opportunities to add value for clients

This is a senior, hands-on role. You'll have autonomy over your workload and direct client relationships, and we'll look to you to lead by example on quality and client service.
