Insurance Accountant (Senior), London
Great opportunity with a well-established Lloyd's/company market insurer, known for its specialist commercial lines and strong reputation across domestic, international and global business.
The role
Senior Accountant based in London, focused on technical and regulatory reporting plus driving improvements across finance systems and processes.
What you'll be doing
- Owning monthly Lloyd's underwriting results (premiums, claims, GL posting)
- Keeping balance sheet recs tight and supporting SOX-compliant controls
- Digging into financial/underwriting data to validate performance and sort out discrepancies
- Building out SQL queries and using Power BI to sharpen reporting
- Leading quarterly Lloyd's and European regulatory returns, plus supporting statutory reporting and audit

- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with insurance or Lloyd's market experience
- Solid grasp of premiums, claims, reserves and reporting cycles in a multi-entity setup
- Strong Excel and SQL skills, comfortable across multiple systems/data warehouses
- Analytical - happy getting into big datasets and finding practical fixes
- Good stakeholder manager - works well across finance, actuarial, underwriting and IT
