I'm currently working with a highly respected and growing independent accountancy practice in Coventry that's looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant to join their expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of practice but is looking to move away from spending every day producing accounts. Instead, you'll play a key role reviewing work, supporting junior staff and ensuring clients receive the highest quality service.
The firm has built an excellent reputation for working closely with owner-managed businesses, providing proactive accounting, tax and advisory services. They invest heavily in their people and offer a modern working environment with genuine opportunities to progress your career.
The Opportunity
This isn't your typical Senior Accountant role. You'll become a trusted technical expert within the team, taking ownership of reviewing work before it reaches clients. Alongside this, you'll mentor junior accountants, help develop their technical abilities and work closely with management to maintain exceptional standards across the department.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
