Description

Energy Aspects has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The Senior Accountant independently owns complex accounting areas and adds depth to review, resilience, and coaching across the team. The role sits in Group Controllership and reports to the Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager. It delivers complex workstreams to a reviewer-ready standard, clears aged balance sheet items, and provides deputy and review cover within the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own higher-complexity entities, accounts, and close workstreams.
  • Prepare and review complex journals, reconciliations, and intercompany and FX accounting within delegated scope.
  • Investigate aged or unusual reconciling items and resolve them at source.
  • Work closely with the Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager on consolidation, statutory accounts, audit, and technical schedules.
  • Provide first-level review of allocated work where delegated and return work that doesn’t meet Finance standards.
  • Coach colleagues and strengthen documentation, handovers, and backup ownership.
  • Lead selected control, standardization, or close improvement initiatives within the Group R2R process.
  • Provide cover for critical close and reporting work across Group entities.
  • Escalate material or technical judgements to the Reporting & Technical Accounting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
