Senior Accountant - Portsmouth
As a Senior Accountant in Portsmouth, you'll handle financial reporting and analysis to support the public sector's accounting needs. This role ensures accurate financial management, helping the organisation run efficiently.

Description
As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Prepare and analyse financial reports to support decision-making processes.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting activities to ensure financial accuracy.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide financial advice and insights to management and stakeholders.
- Monitor and manage financial performance against budgets.
- Support audits and ensure proper documentation of financial activities.
- Identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Profile
A Successful Senior Accountant Should Have
- A professional accounting qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and public sector regulations.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to financial tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Job Offer
- Salary ranging from £42,000 to £47,000, dependent on the level of experience.
- Permanent position in the public sector based in Portsmouth.
