Are you an ambitious practice accountant looking for a role that offers genuine variety, strong client exposure and the opportunity to develop within a growing, technology-driven firm?
We're working with an ambitious and expanding accountancy practice that is investing heavily in technology, cloud systems and smarter ways of working. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that is moving away from the traditional compliance-led model and embracing modern technology to create a more efficient and commercially focused service for its clients.
Based in Manchester, the role would suit an experienced practice professional who enjoys working closely with clients and wants to develop their technical, commercial and advisory skills within a progressive environment.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Accountant, you'll work across a varied portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, taking responsibility for a broad range of accounts, tax and client service work.
You'll have genuine ownership of your workload and regular interaction with business owners, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships and develop into a trusted adviser.
The firm is particularly focused on using cloud technology and modern systems to improve the client experience and streamline the way the team works. This makes the role ideal for someone who enjoys embracing new technology and finding more efficient ways of delivering high-quality work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
