TPF Recruitment is supporting a highly regarded, multisited firm of chartered accountants in its search for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Thatcham office.
This is a senior, autonomous position for an accomplished practice professional who can manage assignments with minimal supervision, review and sign off work, lead client meetings and provide commercially focused advice.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and act as a trusted point of contact for clients. This would suit someone who enjoys combining strong technical work with relationship management and commercial advisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Managing a varied portfolio of clients
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
- Reviewing and signing off work completed by other team members
- Leading client meetings and presenting financial information clearly
- Providing commercially focused advice to business owners
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and services
- Managing assignments from planning through to completion
- Supporting, developing and reviewing more junior members of the team
- Maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring deadlines are met
- Working closely with the partners and wider management team

Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Have substantial experience within an accountancy practice
- Be ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience with a strong technical background
- Be genuinely capable of working independently
- Have experience reviewing and signing off accounts
- Be confident leading client meetings
- Possess strong commercial awareness and sound business advisory skills
- Communicate confidently with business owners and senior stakeholders
- Be comfortable supporting and overseeing junior colleagues

- Salary: £55,000 to £60,000
