Role Summary

The Senior Accountant, Tax is responsible for preparing and reviewing income tax returns, quarterly and annual income tax provisions, estimated and extension tax payments, and supporting workpapers for certain T. Rowe Price companies and permanent establishments domiciled in EMEA and APAC. The Senior Accountant, Tax will also assist with income tax examinations, transfer pricing matters, legal entity forecasts, and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review income tax returns by gathering and analyzing financial accounting information, calculating book-to-tax adjustments, preparing taxable income computations, and coordinating with external advisors.
  • Ensure estimated and extension tax payments are computed accurately and paid timely.
  • Assist with responses to income tax examinations, as necessary.
  • Prepare income tax provisions under US GAAP for T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. consolidated reporting and under local GAAP or IFRS for statutory reporting, working with regional finance teams and external auditors as needed.
  • Monitor changes in local tax laws, tax rates, and reporting requirements that may affect EMEA and APAC entities and help assess the related compliance impact.
  • Prepare transfer pricing allocations and participate in the monthly close process, including preparing and uploading stat and journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Assist with the preparation of transfer pricing local files, supporting documentation, and other regulatory or tax reporting requirements for EMEA and APAC entities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives, identify process improvements, strengthen controls, and implement tax best practices.

Qualifications

Required:

  • University degree
  • 2+ years of total relevant work experience
  • Tax and/or accounting qualifications (ICAEW, CIOT, or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of corporate income tax compliance, tax accounting, and financial reporting concepts, including familiarity with US GAAP and local GAAP or IFRS frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical tax matters and apply them to practical business situations.
  • Experience researching tax treaty networks, local country tax rules, and cross-border tax issues is a plus
  • Ability to support multi-departmental projects, contribute to process improvements, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across locations and functions
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM - Tax Reporting Cloud is a plus
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and collaborative, with the ability to take initiative and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tax concepts clearly to non-tax audiences
  • Comfortable working independently as part of a global team, including regular collaboration with managers and colleagues in other offices
