About The Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join a highly successful and expanding chartered accountancy practice based in Clevedon. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated accounting professional to develop their technical skills and advance their career within a supportive and dynamic environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will take on increasing responsibilities, including the preparation of year-end accounts, tax compliance, and providing general practice services to a diverse client base. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two to three years of experience in an accountancy practice, demonstrating a solid understanding of statutory accounts preparation, tax compliance, and broader practice services. Candidates may be AAT qualified, or qualified, part-qualified, or finalist ACA or ACCA members, or have equivalent practical experience. A proactive attitude, strong technical knowledge, and a desire for career progression are essential. The role is suitable for professionals seeking to expand their responsibilities, develop technical expertise, and carve a significant position within a growing firm.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review year-end financial statements for a diverse range of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies across various industries.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of tax returns, ensuring compliance with current legislation and deadlines.
  • Provide general practice support, including bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts.
  • Engage with clients to understand their financial needs and offer professional advice where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of all accounting tasks.
  • Support junior team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and service delivery.
  • Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry developments to ensure compliance and technical accuracy.
