About the Role
This role owns the financial management, reporting and governance of a significant area of this business, ensuring accurate accounting while providing insight that supports key investment and operational decisions. It combines technical accounting with key stakeholder partnering.
Client Details
This role is with a large retailer in South Yorkshire, easy reach of Leeds, Sheffield and Wakefield.
Description
- Manage and monitor the capital expenditure process, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and analysis on capital investments.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and review capital project proposals.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting for capital projects.
- Maintain control over fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve capital efficiency.
- Support audit processes and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
- Work closely with the accounting team to align capital reporting with broader financial objectives.

Profile
A Successful Accounting Controller Should Have
- Strong financial and accounting skills, particularly in capital management.
- Experience in preparing and analysing financial reports related to capital investments.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes.
