Downey Osborne is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant for a 12-month maternity cover contract.

About You
You will be an experienced Accounts Assistant with at least three years of experience within a finance team, including exposure to senior-level responsibilities.
You will be confident managing a varied workload, working accurately to deadlines and supporting colleagues across different areas of the business. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work well within a small team will be important.

Part-qualified or IATI-qualified candidates are preferred, although relevant experience will also be considered.
About Your New Role
Always:
- Support the day-to-day running of the sales and purchase ledgers
- Complete credit control duties, customer allocations, and customer statements
- Process and code purchase invoices while managing supplier queries
- Prepare daily, monthly, and month-end finance reports
- Complete reconciliations and support cash flow processes
Often:
- Support stock purchase ledger activities, purchase orders, and order control schedules
- Prepare monthly payment runs and direct debit collections
- Assist with invoice financing declarations, payments, and drawdowns
- Collate monthly recharges for submission to relevant brand owners
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Director on financial reporting

Occasionally:
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts
- Assist with internal controls and ongoing finance compliance
- Work closely with commercial teams, logistics partners, and wider management
Never:
- Be expected to know where every missing pen in the office has gone.
- Be asked to identify which colleague would survive longest in the wild.
