Senior Accounts Assistant | Private Equity | Central London
Our client is an independent, London-headquartered private equity investor focused on transforming and growing mid-market European businesses. The firm takes a genuinely hands-on approach alongside the management teams it backs, and isn't tied to the exit timelines of a traditional, fixed-life fund. It's a lean team with a presence across several European markets, the kind of close-knit, entrepreneurial environment where good work gets noticed.
The firm is growing its in-house finance function, and this role is broader than the title might suggest. Alongside the usual purchase ledger, sales ledger and cash management work, you'll get genuine exposure to intercompany and SPV recharges across a multi-entity group structure, plus audit support along the way. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a role for someone who wants to own a process end to end, not sit in one narrow lane of a large finance team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
