Senior Accounts Assistant
Glasgow City Centre | Hybrid & Flexible Working | Up to £45,000 DOE

Due to continued growth driven by client referrals, recommendations, and an outstanding reputation in the market, they are looking to appoint a Senior Accounts Assistant to join their expanding team.
The Role
Working closely with a varied portfolio of SME clients, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation of management and financial information while building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Drafting year-end accounts for review
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance deadlines are met
- Processing and reviewing bookkeeping records
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting exercises
- Producing financial reports and analysis for clients
- Liaising directly with clients to answer finance-related queries
- Supporting junior team members where required
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
- Working collaboratively with managers and partners across the practice
About You
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
- Experience preparing management accounts
- Strong bookkeeping and reconciliations experience
- Good understanding of VAT and financial reporting processes
- Studying towards an accounting qualification or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in cloud-based accounting software and Microsoft Excel
