Job Title: Senior Actuarial Analyst

Location: International Portfolio – CUO Office Supervisor: Deputy Head of Pricing, International Team: International Pricing & Planning


About the Role

We’re seeking a highly motivated, analytically strong Senior Actuarial Analyst to support strategic pricing initiatives across our International portfolio. Your expertise will drive impactful decisions in contract structuring and underwriting operations.


Responsibilities

  • Complex Risk Pricing

    • Support the Deputy Head of Pricing and team in analysing, pricing, and structuring large and complex insurance and reinsurance contracts across multiple lines (e.g., Lloyd’s, Casualty, Marine, Aviation, PVT, Energy).
  • Pricing Tool Development & Improvement

    • Collaborate with class underwriters to develop and enhance exposure-based pricing tools.
    • Help deploy new exposure models and refine parameteriation processes for best-practice alignment.

  • Portfolio Steering & Analytics

    • Conduct growth strategy analyses and remediation investigations to inform business decisions.
    • Monitor key accounts, perform account performance reviews, and liaise with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Business Planning Support

    • Lead loss ratio setting and driver analyses (including loss trends and inflation).
    • Contribute to loss ratio volatility modelling for capital planning purposes.
  • Continuous Improvement

    • Identify opportunities to enhance pricing maturity and further our best-in-class positioning.
    • Lead peer review processes, seek feedback, and develop (your and your peers’) skills.
  • Cross-Functional Contributions

    • Partner with actuarial, underwriting, and business teams to deliver high-impact insights and drive collaborative projects.

Requirements and Technical skills

  • Qualification Progress:
    • Significant progress towards actuarial qualification + 3+ years’ experience.
  • Pricing Expertise:
    • Experience pricing Lloyd’s/London Market risks (preferable).
    • Exposures: Casualty, Marine, PVT, Aviation, or Energy beneficial.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Ability to build and refine exposure-based pricing models.
    • Strong MS Excel skills (formulas, data analysis).
    • Experience with Power BI and coding (e.g., SQL, Python) highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Curiosity, openness to learning new techniques.
    • Collaborative mindset with strong teamwork ability.
    • Commitment to high-quality work.
    • Effective written and verbal communications across diverse stakeholder groups.
