The Role
Are you an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse with a passion for supporting individuals affected by alcohol and drug use? NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for a Senior Addiction Nurse to join our Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS), working as part of a skilled multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality, person-centred care. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of people with complex recovery needs while contributing to innovative harm reduction and recovery-focused services. You'll play a key role in assessment, care planning, clinical leadership, staff development and partnership working across health and social care services. 55 Hunter Street, Glasgow City, G4 0UP
3 x 13-hour shifts with a 60-minute break

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake comprehensive assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care for individuals with complex alcohol and drug recovery needs
- Deliver specialist nursing interventions using a strengths-based, recovery-focused and trauma-informed approach
- Promote and support physical and mental wellbeing, relapse prevention and harm reduction strategies
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients, families and carers, ensuring care is delivered with dignity, respect and compassion
- Provide clinical supervision, leadership and support to registered nurses, healthcare support workers and learners
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and partner agencies to coordinate effective care and support pathways
- Contribute to clinical governance, service improvement, professional development and the delivery of safe, effective care

Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to do the Job
- Registered Nurse (Level 1) with current NMC registration and significant addiction nursing experience
- Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development and commitment to lifelong learning
- Specialist knowledge of addiction services, risk assessment, recovery-focused practice and physical and mental health care
- Experience of care coordination, community-based working and managing complex clinical caseloads
- Demonstrable leadership, supervision and staff development experience, with the ability to influence and support others
- Excellent communication, decision-making and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
