Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly organised and proactive administrator to support the Consultant Chemical Pathologist and the Blood Sciences Department.
About the Role
The post-holder will lead on clinic administration, governance support and communication processes, working closely with senior clinical and laboratory staff. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement and the ability to work independently are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee clinic scheduling and provide administrative support to the Consultant Chemical Pathologist and Head of Blood Sciences.
- Support governance processes, training compliance, departmental meetings, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain effective communication systems for patient enquiries and clinic bookings.
- Order departmental consumables, monitor expenditure and escalate concerns where required.
- Act as a key contact for internal colleagues, external agencies, and regulatory bodies.
- Line manage the General Administrator for Blood Sciences and support wider Pathology administration when needed.
- Demonstrate professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills at all times.
