Job Overview
Learning and Workforce Development is a single trust-wide service across the Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. Realignment of the structure ensures that Learning and Workforce Development can respond both internally and externally and deliver effective learning and workforce development across the Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and across boundaries within Health and Care.
The Senior Administrator & National Course Coordinator will play a pivotal role within the Learning and Workforce Development team at Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This team operates as a single, trust-wide service, ensuring cohesive and effective learning and workforce development across the Bristol NHS Foundation Trust and beyond, including collaboration across Health and Care boundaries.
Main Duties of the Job
As part of this role, you will support the Resuscitation Services Department, which delivers clinical education and subject matter expertise to equip healthcare professionals—including Nurses, Midwives, Allied Health Practitioners, and Medics—with the skills, knowledge, competence, and equipment needed to deliver safe and effective patient care.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Ensuring the service remains agile and responsive to evolving workforce needs.
- Supporting national and regional training solutions to enhance workforce capabilities.
- Collaborating with resuscitation specialist educators and clinicians to develop a highly skilled and adaptable workforce, capable of maintaining high-quality service delivery.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- Displays excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.

- Demonstrate self-motivation and excellent time management, prioritising workload, meeting deadlines, and maintaining close attention to detail.
- Plan, organise, and adapt educational activities and programmes to meet learner and stakeholder needs, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness.
- Utilise digital tools and learning systems to efficiently manage schedules, assessments, reports, and communication.
- Coordinate nationally accredited Life Support Courses and Trust training programmes.
- To provide support for both facilitators and delegates of courses for specific learning and development programmes including Bookings / confirmations / course requirements/ resources. Room and venue management including IT. Enrol candidates on to the RCUK Learning and Management System (LMS).
- Utilise digital tools and learning systems to efficiently manage schedules, assessments, reports, and communication.
- Advertise and promote training opportunities across the Trust.
- Manage administrative processes and continuous improvement, such as monitoring shared inboxes, responding to enquiries, attending meetings, and contributing to best practice within the work area.
- Support ad hoc admin tasks as directed and supported by the line manager to meet the needs of the service.

Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in an administrative role within a busy office environment, managing competing priorities effectively
- Experience of using electronic systems & bespoke online medical education systems for record-keeping, reporting, timetable design or a willingness to learn
- Experience in providing customer service or front-line support
