Hours: 22.2, three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)

This is a great opportunity to support local democracy at Suffolk County Council as a Senior Administrator in Democratic Services, working alongside politicians and officers across all departments, as well as providing advice and information to the public. Your role and responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for councillors, members of the public and staff through the councillor service helpdesk.
- Managing multiple inboxes covering a broad range of queries and issues.
- Running budget reports using Oracle Fusion and reconciling spend.
- Administering Councillor Locality Budget Grants.
- Processing Councillor Expense claims.
- Maintaining the democracy and governance pages on the Council’s website.
- Updating the democratic information on the Council’s Intranet for staff and councillors.
- Handling and recording petitions using an established procedure.
You will need
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing and supporting workloads as required.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of the distinct roles of councillors and officers.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and editing webpages (training will be provided).
- Commitment to delivering high standards of customer service.
- Knowledge of local government and political awareness is desirable.

The team
The Democratic Services Team provides a range of administrative support services to Councillors, officers, and members of the public. We are a small, friendly and supportive team that comprises of range of roles all of which support the governance of the Council.
