Senior Admissions Officer

Admissions Department The Admissions Department is responsible for managing the student journey from initial application through to enrolment, The department plays a critical role in ensuring that applicants are assessed fairly, consistently and in accordance with institutional, regulatory and partner university requirements, while providing an efficient and supportive experience for prospective students. The department oversees admissions assessment, qualification evaluation, applicant interviews, compliance checks, admissions decision-making, and enrolment operations. It works closely with academic schools, recruitment, student finance, registry, quality and compliance teams, partner universities and external stakeholders to support student recruitment, regulatory compliance and institutional objectives. As a key function within the College, the department contributes to maintaining high standards of applicant assessment, data accuracy, student record integrity and compliance with regulatory and partner requirements, while continuously seeking opportunities to enhance processes, systems and the overall student experience. Role As Regent College London continues to grow and strengthen its position within the higher education sector, the College is investing in its admissions capability to ensure it remains aligned with regulatory expectations, sector best practice and institutional ambitions. The Senior Admissions Officer will play a key role in supporting the continued development of admissions operations, compliance, quality assurance and applicant assessment practices across the College. Bringing significant expertise in UK higher education admissions, the postholder will provide specialist knowledge and guidance on UK and international qualifications, admissions compliance, UKVI requirements and sector best practice across Levels 3 to 7, including foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate provision. Working collaboratively with academic and professional services teams, the postholder will contribute to the enhancement of admissions systems, processes, policies and quality assurance frameworks. They will support complex admissions activity, including non-standard entry applications, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), Return to Study (RTS) cases, appeals and other admissions review processes. The role will also contribute to strategic institutional priorities, including regulatory audits, quality reviews, Office for Students (OfS) requirements, UKVI compliance activities and wider organisational development initiatives. Through sharing sector knowledge, introducing best practice and supporting continuous improvement, the Senior Admissions Officer will help ensure that admissions operations remain robust, compliant, efficient and aligned with the College's future ambitions.

Main duties and responsibilities Admissions Operations and Quality Assurance Ensure admissions decisions, reviews and sign-off processes are completed accurately and within agreed service standards. Support the delivery of admissions operations across Levels 3 to 7, covering foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate provision. Monitor application processing to ensure compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements and partner university agreements. Maintain high standards of accuracy, record keeping and data integrity across admissions and enrolment systems. Support face-to-face enrolment activities and registration events, ensuring accurate student records and documentation. Regulatory Compliance and Sector Knowledge Act as a subject matter expert on UK higher education admissions, including qualifications frameworks, UK and overseas qualifications, and admissions best practice. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, including UKVI compliance, consumer protection obligations, Office for Students (OfS) expectations and sector developments. Support preparations for audits, reviews and inspections, including internal audits, partner university reviews, regulatory reviews and due diligence exercises. Contribute to the development of admissions processes that support institutional readiness for regulatory scrutiny, degree awarding powers applications and organisational growth. Admissions Assessment and Panels Manage and support admissions review processes and panels, including: Non-standard entry applications Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Return to Study (RTS) applications Academic appeals and admissions-related reviews Provide recommendations and guidance to senior academic staff on complex admissions cases. Conduct student interviews and provide guidance to colleagues involved in admissions assessments. Stakeholder Management Build effective working relationships with academic schools, registry, student finance, recruitment, compliance and senior leadership teams. Provide professional advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on admissions requirements, qualification assessment and applicant suitability. Liaise with partner universities, awarding bodies and external agencies where required. Systems, Process Improvement and Institutional Development Support the implementation of new systems, technologies and process improvements across admissions and enrolment functions. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, applicant experience, compliance and operational effectiveness. Share sector knowledge and external best practice to support continuous improvement. Contribute to policy development and periodic reviews of admissions-related procedures, regulations and guidance. Support strategic projects relating to institutional development, including new campus or college initiatives, regulatory submissions and governance requirements.

Principal Accountabilities Provide accurate information and guidance relating to College programmes, policies, procedures and student services as required. Attend and actively contribute to team meetings, training activities, quality assurance reviews, audits and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain confidentiality and handle information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), Data Protection Act and College policies. Participate in staff development activities, mandatory training and the College's performance review and development processes.
