About the Role

As an ACP, you will demonstrate safe, autonomous, and evidence-based clinical decision-making, working collaboratively with Emergency Department consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Undertaking comprehensive patient assessments
• Applying advanced diagnostic reasoning
• Formulating treatment plans
• Managing patient care across a wide range of acute presentations

You will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their emergency care journey whilst ensuring adherence to Trust policies, procedures, and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Managing patient flow and identifying appropriate escalation, de-escalation, or alternative care pathways.
• Leadership: Providing senior clinical leadership and operational oversight within their specialty.
• Education and Development: Contributing to specialist education programmes; providing clinical supervision, teaching, and support to multidisciplinary team members, including Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) at all stages of development.
• Service Improvement: Leading or contributing to quality improvement initiatives, service development, research, and audit activities to enhance patient care and service delivery.
• Staff Management: Managing and developing ACP staff through recruitment, appraisal, performance management, and retention activities.
• Complaints and Concerns: Addressing complaints and concerns, promoting learning from incidents.
