We're looking for a Senior Advisor (Automation Transformation) to work directly with industrial clients, guiding them through their automation journey and helping shape the future of UK manufacturing.

The Role
As a Senior Advisor within our Automation Transformation team, you'll work closely with manufacturing organisations to understand their current operations, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop automation strategies that deliver measurable business value.
You'll lead customer-facing projects, facilitate workshops, assess automation readiness, and support clients in adopting robotics and automation technologies that drive productivity, efficiency, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex client-facing transformation and automation projects.
- Facilitate discovery workshops to identify business, operational, and technology improvement opportunities.
- Assess manufacturing readiness for automation using structured methodologies and assessment tools.
- Develop automation and robotics strategies, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
- Identify suitable technologies and solutions to address client challenges.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams across MTC technology groups.
- Oversee the delivery and technical governance of project outcomes.
- Support the development of pilot automation systems and proof-of-concept projects.
- Build trusted relationships with customers, technology partners, and key stakeholders.

About You
You'll be a highly credible manufacturing professional with significant industry experience and a track record of leading change and technology adoption programmes.
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of automation and robotics technologies and their industrial applications.
- Experience within manufacturing environments in roles such as Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Manager, Director, MD, or Consultant.
- Expertise in manufacturing improvement techniques, including Lean, Value Stream Mapping, and Process Mapping.
- Knowledge of operational efficiency improvement methods, facility layout, and production flow optimisation.
- Experience of leadership, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong commercial awareness and customer-facing experience.
- Minimum of 10 years' industry experience.
- Degree-level background in an engineering discipline or equivalent industrial experience.
