Senior Affiliate Marketing Manager

£65,000–£90,000 plus performance-related annual bonus

Predominantly remote, with hybrid working available at Tangmere and Portchester, West Sussex

About Us

Scrap Car Comparison is the UK’s leading scrap and salvage vehicle comparison service. We generate approximately 100,000 qualified customer enquiries each month and help thousands of customers sell their vehicles through our nationwide network of approved buyers.

We currently generate almost all our enquiries through paid search, organic search and social channels, with less than 1% coming through affiliates. We believe affiliates and commercial referral partnerships could ultimately generate approximately 20% of our total enquiries within around three years.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Affiliate Marketing Manager to build and scale this channel from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role. Applicants must have personally built a complete affiliate programme for another high-volume B2C business and successfully grown it into a meaningful source of profitable leads or customers.

You must have owned the full process yourself, including:

  • Developing the strategy and commercial model.
  • Selecting the platforms and technology.
  • Identifying and recruiting partners.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Overseeing integrations and tracking.
  • Managing relationships and optimising performance.

Experience of supporting an affiliate programme, inheriting and maintaining an established programme or primarily managing an agency will not be sufficient.

Approximately 85% of the role will focus on generating new enquiries through affiliates and commercial partners. The remaining 15% will focus on monetising suitable leads and customer opportunities that our business already generates.

Key Responsibilities

Affiliate Lead Generation – Approximately 85%

  • Develop and execute the strategy for growing affiliate-generated enquiries from less than 1% of current volume towards approximately 20% over time.
  • Identify, approach, recruit and manage relevant affiliates and commercial partners.
  • Build the programme’s commission model, partner proposition, onboarding process, tracking, reporting and operating standards.
  • Negotiate commercially viable CPL, CPA, revenue-share, tenancy and hybrid agreements.
  • Work with our development, data and CRO teams to implement tracking, attribution, landing pages, embedded quote forms and other integrations.
  • Monitor performance throughout the complete journey from enquiry to booking and completed vehicle collection.
  • Optimise partners based on lead quality, conversion, acquisition cost, completed transactions and profitability.
  • Ensure affiliate activity generates genuinely incremental enquiries rather than claiming commission for customers who would have reached us anyway.
  • Establish appropriate compliance, brand-control, lead-validation and fraud-prevention processes.
  • Maintain productive relationships with existing partners while continually developing new opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Relevant partners could include:

  • Cashback, voucher, discount, loyalty and rewards platforms.
  • Automotive and consumer publishers.
  • Comparison websites and specialist lead generators.
  • Insurers and accident-management businesses.
  • Breakdown and vehicle-recovery companies.
  • Garages, servicing businesses and MOT networks.
  • Vehicle-buying platforms and automotive marketplaces.
  • Dealer groups, fleets, finance and leasing businesses.
  • Membership organisations, employee-benefit platforms and other businesses with access to relevant vehicle owners.

Monetising Existing Leads – Approximately 15%

  • Identify leads and customer opportunities that we cannot fully monetise through our existing services.
  • Find appropriate businesses to receive these leads through affiliate, referral or lead-supply arrangements.
  • Develop the proposition and personally negotiate and launch new partnerships.
  • Establish suitable CPL, CPA, revenue-share or other commercial models.
  • Monitor lead acceptance, conversion, revenue, margin and partner performance.
  • Ensure these partnerships remain compliant and do not undermine our existing customer proposition or revenue.

Commercial Ownership

  • Own affiliate budgets, forecasts, commission structures and channel performance.
  • Set and report against KPIs covering qualified lead volume, cost per lead, booking conversion, completed transactions, revenue and contribution margin.
  • Use data to determine which partners should be scaled, improved or discontinued.
  • Report clearly to the Head of Marketing and directors on performance, opportunities, risks and priorities.

What Success Looks Like

Success will be based on the quality, volume and profitability of the enquiries generated—not simply the number of affiliates recruited.

The successful candidate will:

  • Establish a clear strategy, operating model, technology solution and partner pipeline.
  • Launch partners that deliver meaningful volumes of qualified enquiries.
  • Demonstrate commercially viable conversion from enquiry through to completed vehicle collection.
  • Develop a broad mix of conventional affiliates and larger strategic partnerships.
  • Make measurable progress towards affiliates generating approximately 20% of total enquiries.
  • Establish a complementary and profitable model for monetising suitable existing leads.

  • At least 5 years’ direct, hands-on affiliate marketing experience.
  • You must have personally built an affiliate programme from the ground up for another business and successfully scaled it.
  • This must have been within a high-volume B2C, comparison, marketplace or consumer lead-generation environment of reasonably comparable scale.
  • You must be able to demonstrate the results you personally delivered, including lead or customer volumes, growth, acquisition costs, conversion and commercial return.
  • Direct experience identifying, approaching, negotiating with, onboarding and managing affiliate partners.
  • Strong knowledge of affiliate platforms, networks, attribution, tracking and commission models.
  • Experience working with CPL, CPA, revenue-share, tenancy and other performance-based arrangements.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills, including the ability to assess lead quality, incrementality, conversion and profitability.
  • The ability and willingness to conduct outreach, negotiate agreements, solve operational problems and manage partners personally.
  • Experience working with development, data, CRO and wider marketing teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-management skills.

Automotive experience would be valuable but is not essential. Proven affiliate success within a comparable high-volume B2C business is considerably more important.

Team and Reporting

This is initially a standalone role reporting to the Head of Marketing and working closely with the directors.

You will be supported by an established in-house team spanning PPC, SEO, CRO, content, PR, data and development. However, you will remain personally accountable for the affiliate strategy, partner development and day-to-day execution.

There may be an opportunity to build additional resource as the channel grows.

Location and Working Arrangements

This is a full-time, predominantly remote role. Hybrid working is available from our Tangmere and Portchester offices for anyone who lives nearby or prefers to spend time on site. Some travel to our offices and partner meetings will be required when useful.

Benefits and Perks

  • Company pension
  • Wellbeing and employee support programme
  • Access to discounted gym memberships and an on-demand GP service
  • Retail and leisure discounts across leading brands (Caffè Nero, Asos, Adidas, and more)
  • Opportunities for professional development and funded training
  • Regular team meet-ups and company events throughout the year
  • Annual Christmas celebrations
  • Free food Fridays and fresh fruit available for staff working on site
  • Discounted garage services for vehicle owners
  • Counselling and financial assistance helplines
