Department Overview
The Motorola Solutions 'International Mobile Applications’ organisation is responsible for creating the mission critical software solutions which serve emergency first responders across public safety agencies worldwide. The solutions created by this organisation are used by hundreds of thousands of police officers, firefighters and paramedics every day and aim to improve the effectiveness of our emergency services response.
The various applications that we build for first responders are deployed across a wide range of different device types and are sophisticated solutions comprising client applications, server applications, web applications and databases.
Within the organisation, we are organised into different product groups focusing on different sectors and territories across the world. This specific role is focused on our solution which serves UK Police agencies.
Our ‘Pronto’ team is the largest supplier of mobile police apps in the UK, providing software to half of the UK’s 45 police forces - used by around 70,000 police officers on a daily basis. Based in the West End of Glasgow, we currently have around 80 employees. Our team started as Kelvin Connect in 2002, a spin-out company from the University of Glasgow. Now, as part of Motorola Solutions, we continue to expand with future opportunities in the UK and beyond.
Job Description
This is a hybrid role, with time split between our Glasgow office and working from home.
The Senior Agile Project Manager will be responsible for leading a cross-functional squad consisting of Technical Project Managers, Software Engineers, and Test Engineers. As part of this squad, you will oversee several customer deliveries, driving Agile delivery standards, facilitating iterative execution, setting product delivery strategy, and acting as the outward-facing lead for Motorola Solutions.

They will also be line manager and mentor to the other Project Managers in the squad, delegating work as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Iterative & Continuous Delivery: Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technical solutions using Agile frameworks. Facilitate core ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, and Retrospectives) to ensure predictable, high-velocity output.
- Agile Governance & Flow: Work closely with a cross-functional squad and key customer stakeholders to prioritise user stories, manage backlog health, eliminate delivery blockers, and maintain clear visibility on team velocity and release roadmaps.
- Agile Artifact Management: Oversee project and delivery plans, definition of done (DoD), sprint goals, release plans, budget tracking, and post-launch value realization reports.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer stakeholders, translating complex technical software concepts into business value while transparently communicating progress, iteration velocity, and release timelines.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify issues that could arise within the project such as technical dependencies, adoption of the design solution, budget and resourcing.
- Driving Delivery Standards: Ensure the team follows proven best practices to deliver high-quality work, while keeping leadership informed of any risks and meeting regularly with customers to maintain open communication and ensure they are seeing value.
Basic Requirements
Required:
- Education: BSc/BA degree, or equivalent commercial project management experience.
- Experience: 7+ years of experience managing commercial software delivery in complex, delivery-driven environments using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or hybrid Agile).
- Agile Expertise: Proven experience leading cross-functional delivery squads, managing backlog refinement, and facilitating Agile ceremonies.
- Stakeholder Diplomacy: Expert written and verbal communication skills with a focus on client relationship management and expectations alignment.
- People Leadership: Experience line-managing, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Security Clearance: Must meet NPPV3 security clearance requirements (requires a minimum of 3 years continuous UK residency).

Desirable:
- Education: BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical/management degree.
- Agile Certifications: Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist certification.
- Virtual Leadership: Proven experience leading, coaching, and motivating remote or hybrid delivery teams.
- Technical Familiarity: Background or familiarity with Azure DevOps and / or software delivery.
