Senior AI Assurance Consultant
Join a leading telecommunications company as a Senior AI Assurance Consultant!
Job Overview
As a Senior AI Assurance Consultant, you will be working across Engineering, Product, Legal and Compliance teams, you will develop and begin rolling out the organisation's AI Assurance Framework, helping to embed governance, risk controls and Responsible AI practices throughout the AI development lifecycle. This position requires a subject matter expert who can bridge the gap between AI Engineering and Governance, acting as the dedicated owner of the AI assurance agenda.
Contract Details
- Contract Length: 3 months (full-time) or 6 months (part-time)
- Location: London (hybrid – twice per month on-site)
- Rate: £650 per day (inside IR35)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an AI Assurance Framework aligned to ISO 42001, the EU AI Act and Responsible AI principles.
- Establish governance processes, policies, controls and standards to ensure AI solutions are safe, secure, fair, accurate and compliant.
- Partner with AI Engineering, Product, Legal and Compliance teams to embed governance and assurance activities throughout the entire AI development lifecycle.
- Assess AI solutions for risks including model performance, bias, fairness, explainability, security vulnerabilities and regulatory compliance.
- Define and implement controls covering Proof of Concept, data selection and cleansing, model training, testing, deployment and ongoing monitoring activities.
- Educate and influence stakeholders to drive awareness and adoption of Responsible AI practices across the business.
- Serve as the central point of expertise for AI governance, assurance and compliance, helping the organisation safely bring AI-enabled products to market.

Key Requirements

- Proven experience developing AI governance, Responsible AI or AI Assurance frameworks within a consulting or in-house environment.
- Strong knowledge of AI governance standards and regulations, including ISO 42001, the EU AI Act and wider AI assurance frameworks.
- Solid understanding of the AI development lifecycle, including Proof of Concept development, data preparation, model training, testing, deployment and monitoring.
- Experience designing and embedding governance controls, risk controls and assurance activities across AI and machine learning solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing Engineering, Product, Legal and Compliance teams.
