AI Senior Engineer — Financial Services (Public Markets/Investors)

Inside IR35 Contract role

The requirement is essentially for a Senior Engineer with strong AI capability, who can use AI both to build tooling and to think strategically about how AI/LLMs can be embedded into the architecture and critical business processes.

The key question is not simply “Can they use AI?” but:

  • How can AI be used to improve engineering productivity and build internal tooling?
  • How should AI/ML models be incorporated into the architecture?
  • How do you safely run critical business processes using these technologies?
  • How do you translate AI capability into tangible business value?

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Financial services experience and/or regulatory experience would be highly desirable.

Process / engagement

The initial requirement is contract, but we are open to candidates who could potentially move into a permanent role — effectively a “try before you buy” approach.

  • Day rate: approximately £800-900 per day with flexibility for the right person.
  • The expectation is three days a week in the office, with Monday and Friday specifically being office days.

This is a genuinely office-based team. A lot of the work involves whiteboarding, architecture discussions, and close collaboration, so candidates need to be comfortable being in more than they are out.
