Senior AI Engineer – London – Contract - £650pd via Umbrella
3 days per week on site in central London
£650 per day via umbrella
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands on Implementation Gen AI solutions based on approved designs and architecture
- Develop, fine-tune, and optimize Gen AI and Agentic solutions for production use.
- Collaborate with architects, cloud teams, and business stakeholders to ensure secure and scalable deployments.
- Conduct unit and integration testing, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth deployment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of code, processes, and configurations.
- Monitor and improve model performance post-deployment.
- Collaborate with Cloud team in enabling secure and maintainable Gen AI solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards
- Develop prompt engineering strategies and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Monitor ever-changing AI landscape and their application to client
- Guide development teams through solution implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Guide and mentor other team members

WORK EXPERIENCE

- Experience providing architectural solutions in a multi-entity, multi-regional financial services organisation
- Experience of working with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions
- Experience of architecting Gen AI solutions (Microsoft Azure, AWS, OCI etc)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Functional / Technical Competencies
- Hands on Agentic AI development and solutioning exp
- Strong expertise in developing Gen AI solutions in Python using multiple frameworks.
- POC solutioning, development and optimisation
- CI / CD & MLOps for AI
- Model development and fine tuning
- Deep expertise in Prompt Engineering and RAG solutions
- Exp with Azure Cloud services related to LLM deployments such as App Service, Azure Functions, Logic Apps
- Azure AI, Data and related services – Azure Open AI, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure AI search, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Purview, Power Platform, Microsoft Graph
- Expertise in LLM integration patterns such as MCP, A2A
- Experience in architecting solutions combining On Premises systems and Cloud systems in a regulated environment
- Experience with GitHub Copilot or similar tools used in AI-assisted development
