Job Description: AI-Focused Engineering Professional
We are looking for an experienced AI-focused engineering professional to join our consultancy team and lead the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge AI-powered solutions for enterprise clients.
This role combines deep expertise in Generative AI, software engineering, product development, cloud architecture, and technical consulting. You will work closely with clients to shape AI strategy, develop proof-of-concepts, establish engineering best practices, and deliver scalable production-grade AI solutions across multiple cloud platforms.
The successful candidate will bring a strong consulting background, a passion for emerging AI technologies, and a proven track record of building high-quality software products and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
AI & Innovation
- Research, evaluate, and implement the latest developments in Generative AI and machine learning.
- Design and develop AI-powered prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and production solutions.
- Build and deploy solutions using LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, and other emerging AI technologies.
- Assess and integrate leading AI platforms and models including OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Bedrock, and Azure AI services.
- Drive innovation and establish best practices for AI engineering across the organisation.
Client Consulting
- Work directly with clients to understand business challenges and identify AI opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership and trusted advisory services throughout the project lifecycle.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions.
- Support bid responses, client workshops, discovery sessions, and technical pre-sales activities.

Software & Product Engineering
- Lead the design and development of scalable, enterprise-grade software solutions.
- Apply modern software engineering principles, architecture patterns, and development methodologies.
- Establish and maintain SDLC best practices, CI/CD processes, testing frameworks, and deployment standards.
- Ensure solutions are secure, maintainable, scalable, and production-ready.
Cloud & Platform Engineering
- Architect and deliver solutions across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Design cloud-native AI platforms and deployment architectures.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code, automated deployment pipelines, and platform observability.
- Support clients in designing scalable AI and data platforms.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor and coach engineers and consultants.
- Define engineering standards, governance, and quality assurance practices.
- Promote technical excellence across delivery teams.
- Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the business.
Essential Experience
- Strong commercial experience delivering AI and Generative AI solutions.
- Proven background within an IT consultancy, technology consultancy, or professional services organisation.
- Extensive software engineering and product development experience.
- Strong Python development skills and experience with modern engineering practices.
- Hands-on experience building applications using LLMs, RAG frameworks, vector databases, and AI orchestration frameworks.
- Experience designing and delivering cloud-native solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS, and GCP.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automated deployment processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and consulting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Experience
- Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers.
- Exposure to data engineering, MLOps, and AI platform engineering.
- Experience working with enterprise-scale clients.
- Knowledge of modern AI trends including AI Agents, Agentic Workflows, Multi-Agent Systems, Reinforcement Learning, and Explainable AI.
- Experience supporting technical sales and client proposal activities.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or another technology-related discipline.
- Minimum 2:1 degree classification (or international equivalent).
