We have a brilliant opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the future of AI-assisted software development within a major application modernisation programme.
What's the role?
Following a successful in-house proof of concept, we're looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to help productionise an AI-assisted development approach using tools such as Codex, accelerating the modernisation of one of our core internally developed applications.
Working closely with technical leaders and engineering teams, you'll play a key role in transforming a legacy monolithic application into a modern, cloud-ready solution. You'll use AI-assisted development techniques to accelerate analysis, refactoring and engineering delivery, while helping establish a repeatable approach that can be adopted across future application modernisation programmes.
This engagement will support the first stage of a wider transformation programme focused on modernising the application and migrating it to Azure, with the potential for further work as additional capabilities are introduced.
If you're passionate about modern software engineering, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and are excited by the opportunity to combine AI-assisted development with enterprise-scale modernisation, we'd love to hear from you.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
