AI Solutions Engineer (Senior / Lead) 📍 Belfast (Hybrid) 💼 Permanent
This isn't your typical engineering role.
You'll be joining a fast-moving AI company working on complex, real-world problems across sectors like defence, finance and public services. The focus here is not maintaining systems - it's designing and building solutions from scratch.
You'll act as a technical partner to clients, understanding their challenges and shaping AI-driven solutions that actually make an impact.
The Role
- Work directly with clients to understand their environment and challenges
- Identify opportunities where AI can solve real problems
- Design and architect bespoke solutions on a modern AI platform
- Collaborate with engineers to build, test and refine solutions
- Rapidly prototype and iterate based on real feedback
- (Lead level) Support and mentor other engineers, helping shape delivery

What They're Looking For
- Strong background in software engineering (Python ideally)
- Experience building production systems or platforms
- Comfortable working with APIs, data and modern cloud environments
- Exposure to AI/LLMs, or strong interest in this space
- Ability to work with clients and translate problems into solutions
- Someone who enjoys ambiguity and solving new problems
Nice to Have
- Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering or agent frameworks
- RAG, vector databases or knowledge graphs
- Cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP) and containerisation
- Data pipelines or ETL work
- Experience in regulated environments
