About The Role
Ocho is seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer to join their Belfast-based team, offering a flexible hybrid work model. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on building and deploying sophisticated machine learning models that process billions of pieces of consumer feedback in real-time. The primary focus will be on developing NLP, personalization, and content-quality models at a genuine production scale, directly impacting the user experience for millions of consumers globally. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge projects involving large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and advanced NLP techniques, contributing to the company's mission of turning raw consumer data into actionable insights. This position offers extensive exposure to real-world ML applications, including model deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement, within a collaborative environment that values innovation and technical excellence.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in building and deploying machine learning models in production environments. Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow are essential. Candidates should have practical knowledge of NLP techniques and experience working with unstructured text data, enabling them to extract meaningful insights from diverse consumer content. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure for managing ML workloads is required. A solid understanding of MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, and retraining pipelines, is critical. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex ML concepts to non-technical teams are also important. Desirable qualifications include experience with LLMs or generative AI in production, as well as familiarity with recommendation systems or personalization at scale.
Responsibilities
- Designing, training, and deploying machine learning models that enhance content moderation, quality scoring, and personalization features.
- Applying NLP techniques to structure and analyze unstructured consumer data, extracting valuable insights to improve product offerings.
- Evaluating and integrating large language models and generative AI technologies where they add genuine value to the product.
- Building and maintaining robust MLOps pipelines for model training, deployment, and ongoing monitoring, ensuring models perform reliably in a live environment.
- Collaborating closely with data engineering teams to ensure data quality and integrity at scale.
- Monitoring live model performance, analyzing feedback, and iterating models based on real-time insights to maintain high standards of accuracy and relevance.
- Working with product and engineering teams to translate ML capabilities into shipped features that enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
