Senior AIT On-Board Processor Engineer
Harwell / Stevenage | Hybrid
Join an innovative space engineering organisation helping deliver next-generation satellite communications and payload technologies.
We're looking for a Senior Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) Engineer to lead the integration and verification of advanced on-board processor hardware used in cutting-edge satellite payloads. This is an opportunity to work on complex spaceflight hardware from integration through qualification, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams on high-profile programmes.
What you'll be doing
- Lead AIT activities for on-board processor hardware
- Integrate digital payload equipment and supporting EGSE
- Perform functional, performance and interface verification
- Support thermal vacuum, vibration, EMC/EMI and environmental testing
- Develop and maintain integration procedures and test documentation
- Commission and validate electrical ground support equipment
- Investigate non-conformances and support engineering reviews
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

What we're looking for
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace or similar Engineering discipline
- Experience in Assembly, Integration & Test of complex electronic or space hardware
- Strong understanding of digital electronics, FPGA systems and embedded hardware
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and laboratory equipment
- Python scripting experience
- Linux and Windows experience
- Excellent communication skills with experience working across multidisciplinary teams

- Satellite payload experience
- GEO, MEO or LEO programmes
- Ka, Ku or X-band payloads
- Digital transparent processors
- Software-defined payloads
- Spacecraft environmental testing
