Senior AIT On-Board Processor Engineer
Location: Harwell, Oxfordshire (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000–£70,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent
My client, a leading space technology company, is looking for a Senior AIT On-Board Processor Engineer to join its growing satellite systems team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the integration, verification, and testing of advanced on-board processor technology for next-generation space missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead AIT activities for on-board processor units from integration through to verification
- Perform hardware, subsystem, and payload integration and testing
- Develop and execute functional, performance, and environmental test campaigns
- Specify, commission, and maintain Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)
- Produce AIT documentation, test procedures, and verification reports
- Manage non-conformances and support technical design and test reviews
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams

Requirements
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 4+ years' experience in AIT, verification, or systems integration for space or complex electronic systems
- Strong knowledge of digital electronics, embedded systems, FPGA-based hardware, and high-speed interfaces
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, logic analysers, and signal generators
- Experience using Linux, Windows, and Python for test automation and data analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience within the space sector or satellite payload development advantageous
