Senior AIT RF Communications Engineer | Oxford | Up to £75,000

We are working with an innovative organisation at the forefront of the global space industry, delivering advanced satellite, communications and space exploration technologies.

As the organisation continues to grow its UK presence, they are looking for a Senior AIT RF Communications Engineer to join their team, based in Oxford.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading technical role within complex satellite programmes, overseeing integration and test activities and helping deliver high-performance RF payloads from integration through to environmental qualification and acceptance.

The Role

As Senior AIT RF Communications Engineer, you will lead a team of multidisciplinary AIT engineers and take responsibility for delivering RF payload integration and test campaigns to schedule, quality and cost requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of multidisciplinary AIT engineers throughout full integration and test campaigns.
  • Perform payload integration activities and RF payload verification and testing.
  • Carry out functional testing, performance verification and end-to-end payload testing.
  • Support link budget validation, RF chain characterisation, redundancy testing and interface verification.
  • Develop test scripts, monitoring tools and automated test solutions.
  • Produce and maintain AIT documentation, including integration procedures, test procedures, test reports, verification reports, data packs and configuration documentation.
  • Raise, manage and support non-conformances through the review process.

About You

We are looking for an experienced RF/AIT engineer with a strong background in satellite communications, aerospace, defence or telecommunications.

You will ideally have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in RF payloads, satellite communications, aerospace, defence or telecommunications.
  • Proven experience leading or supporting complex integration and test campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of RF communication systems and satellite communication architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment
