The opportunity
We are working with a leading consultancy on the appointment of a Senior Aladdin Consultant to join a high-profile programme delivering for one of their end clients in the investment management space.
This is a hands-on business analysis role at the centre of an Aladdin implementation, with a significant data integration component. You will sit between the end client's investment, operations and technology teams and the delivery function - shaping requirements, challenging assumptions and making sure the data flowing in and out of Aladdin is fit for purpose.
It suits someone who knows Aladdin properly, is comfortable in a client-facing consulting environment, and enjoys the ambiguity of a large-scale transformation.
What you'll be doing
- Running discovery and requirements workshops with front, middle and back office stakeholders
- Mapping current-state processes and defining the target operating model on Aladdin
- Producing high-quality functional specifications, user stories and process documentation
- Carrying out gap analysis between existing platforms and Aladdin capability, and recommending resolutions
- Supporting configuration decisions across the relevant Aladdin modules and liaising with BlackRock counterparts
- Owning the data agenda: source-to-target mapping, migration, reconciliation and ongoing quality
- Defining integration requirements across upstream and downstream systems - custodians, administrators, market data vendors, accounting and reporting platforms
- Documenting interface specifications, data flows and lineage, and working with engineering teams on feed design and API integration
- Resolving reference and security master data issues, and establishing golden source and governance principles
- Defining and driving UAT: test strategy, scripts, execution support and defect triage
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, up to and including exec level
- Supporting the wider consultancy team on delivery planning, risk and change management

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
