About the Role:

CRU is seeking a recognized industry expert to lead and grow our aluminum casthouse service and expand analysis of aluminum semi-finished products. This role will be central to strengthening our end-use coverage across automotive and electrification, including the accelerating electric vehicle market, demand for aluminum wheels, and the shift towards megacasting.

The successful candidate will combine rigorous market analysis with commercial insight and client engagement, translating complex industry developments into market-leading research, forecasts, and actionable intelligence.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution.
  • Further education or certification in a subject relevant to commodity research—such as geology, economics, or engineering—is preferred.

Skills & Experience:

  • More than five years’ experience in mining and metals commodity research; direct industry experience is highly advantageous.
  • More than two years’ experience in industry or research roles directly related to aluminum or assigned commodities.
  • Strong knowledge of aluminum markets, with the ability to assess developments in casthouse, semi-finished products, automotive, electrification, and relevant end-use sectors.
  • Proven ability to gather and critically assess both qualitative and quantitative data, identify market trends and drivers, and generate distinctive insights.
  • Highly numerate, with the ability to interpret, manipulate, and manage large datasets and apply mathematical concepts and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis clearly and confidently to clients and market participants.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships and represent analytical expertise in commercial discussions.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial drivers of a subscription business and commitment to maximizing client value and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Ability to balance initiative, ownership, and delivery focus with effective collaboration across a global team.
  • A creative, distinctive, and intellectually curious approach to analysis and client engagement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
