Job Description
Job Summary
The Consulting Senior Analyst I will be a key contributor to our consulting practice, bringing expertise in the energy and chemical sectors to deliver insightful market analysis and strategic advice to our clients. Projects will revolve around multiple business lines including energy, feedstocks, olefins, plastics, aromatics, inorganics, syngas, and other materials. This position requires experienced graduates with a strong background in analytics and market consultancy.
The position is based at our London office and will require working closely with our global team on a regular basis.

We offer short- and long-term market coverage for more than 200 core building-block chemicals with a full suite of advisory services and top-tier events held around the globe. Our bespoke consulting team has experience from upstream oil, gas, and minerals operations to chemicals, plastics, and downstream end-use markets. This rich expertise equips us with a deep understanding of the industry’s most significant challenges, allowing us to collaborate closely and deliver the best solution that fits the needs of our clients. The worldwide chemical and energy industry looks to Dow Jones Energy to guide decisions and help manage risk across the entire value chain.
You Will
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis for consulting projects.
- Review and analyse market and pricing data from Dow Jones Energy’s internal databases and publications and carry out secondary / desk research as required.
- Apply deep knowledge of the energy/petrochemical/chemical sector to deliver commercial and techno-economic recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional consulting and research teams to drive project success.
- Act as a key team member and lead execution of project specific tasks, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- Assist in preparation of project proposals for the clients.
- Utilize understanding and expertise in the energy/petrochemical/chemical sector to provide commercial or techno-economic insights to the consulting projects.
- Contribute to team discussions on various consulting projects as a knowledgeable stakeholder.

You Have
- A minimum of B.Sc./B.Eng./B.Tech. degree in chemical engineering or chemistry or equivalent is required.
- A postgraduate degree in science or business management will be considered as an advantage.
- Demonstrable experience in a commercial or techno-economic role in the energy, refining or petrochemical industry or within energy/refining/petrochemical market consultancy is required.
- Broad understanding of the energy and petrochemicals business, the structure of industry, the production technologies, and economic aspects such as energy and chemical markets and pricing is desirable.
- Proven track record of analytics and market consultancy work is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough research and analysis.
- Good command of the English language in written and spoken forms.
- Experience in writing analytical reports is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite of programs.
