What you will do
In this broad, hands-on position at the heart of KFSUK's Finance function, you will work closely with the Head of Finance and Group Finance stakeholders to own the month-end close process and regulatory reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness and timeliness across the P&L, balance sheet, and daily safeguarding reconciliations in line with FCA requirements.
You will prepare management accounts and reporting packs for internal stakeholders, the Consumer Credit and Finance Committee (CCFC) and the KFSUK Board, lead the annual budget and quarterly reforecast process, and build longer-term financial forecasting models covering P&L, balance sheet, capital and liquidity projections.
On the treasury side, you will monitor cash and intercompany balances and take ownership of KFSUK's annual stress testing. You will also support tax, transfer pricing and governance activities, including VAT and corporate tax compliance, the quarterly IGSA review and service fee calculations, and audit support for external statutory and safeguarding audits.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
