Senior Analytical Chemist £up to c70k + Bonus

PERM - ONSITE

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Analytical Scientist to join a global Analytical Centre of Excellence supporting the development of innovative analytical capabilities for next-generation products.

Working within a multidisciplinary Research & Science environment, you will provide technical leadership in routine and advanced analytical testing, method development and data interpretation, delivering high-quality analytical data to support product development, scientific understanding, regulatory submissions and competitor analysis.

This role offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation whilst collaborating with global scientific teams, external laboratories and academic partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute and report routine and advanced analytical testing using approved methodologies and best laboratory practices.
  • Develop, optimise, validate and deploy analytical methods within a quality-controlled laboratory environment, including ISO 17025 standards.
  • Apply expert knowledge across a broad range of analytical techniques including GC-FID, GC-MS, GCxGC, HPLC and HPLC-MS/MS.
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated analytical instrumentation.
  • Deliver accurate, timely and fit-for-purpose analytical data to support product development, lifecycle management and regulatory programmes.
  • Interpret complex analytical datasets using appropriate informatics and data processing tools.
  • Act as the analytical representative within multidisciplinary project teams, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external scientific partners.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports, scientific publications and presentations.
  • Monitor developments in analytical science, identifying opportunities to introduce new technologies and improve analytical capability.
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory quality systems, Environmental, Health & Safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to project planning, resource management and continuous improvement initiatives across the analytical function.

  • Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Significant industrial experience within an analytical laboratory or research environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of: GC-FID, GC-MS, GCxGC, HPLC, HPLC-MS/MS, Triple quad.
  • Extensive experience in analytical method development, validation and deployment.
  • Experience operating, calibrating, maintaining and troubleshooting advanced analytical instrumentation.
  • Experience working within ISO 17025 accredited and/or GxP compliant laboratories.
  • Experience using analytical informatics and data processing software to analyse and interpret complex datasets.
  • Experience supporting technology transfer and third-party laboratory validation studies.
  • Strong technical communication and stakeholder management abilities.
