Role Overview
Laboratory-based analytical scientist to carry out analytical testing in support of product development, clinical studies, and product registration.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out analytical activities required to support new respiratory products through clinical studies and commercialisation.
- Lead the planning and execution of experiments to develop scientific understanding of analytical methods, formulations, and processes.
- Perform analytical testing related to clinical supplies, stability studies, and process scale-up.
- Process and review data, interpret results, and report experimental outcomes to the project development team.
- Lead troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation and investigations into aberrant or unexpected sample results.
- Maintain laboratory documentation in accordance with cGMP documentation practices.
- Support project delivery through laboratory housekeeping, ordering supplies, shipping samples, and other required activities.
- Work with senior analysts to support analytical laboratory operations and identify opportunities to improve working practices and procedures.
- Oversee the day-to-day work of less experienced analytical laboratory staff.
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS, GMP, GCP, Quality, and Compliance policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities and grade of the role.

Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Forensics, or a related discipline, or equivalent substantial practical experience.
- Good understanding of laboratory safety and best practices.
- Strong understanding of the basic principles of physical, organic, and analytical chemistry, with advanced knowledge in areas relevant to previous experience.
- Highly familiar with analytical chemistry calculations and the application of statistics.
- Strong understanding and substantial practical experience with modern laboratory techniques, including HPLC.
- Able to work with others to plan and coordinate the day-to-day activities of a small team.
- Able to work autonomously, manage multiple tasks, and consistently deliver high-quality results within required timelines.
- Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Able to lead troubleshooting activities and investigations.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Enthusiastic about working in a laboratory-based role.
