Senior Analytical Technician I Bracknell I Onsite I £Competitive
We’re recruiting for a Senior Analytical Technician to join BioChek’s Technical Production team in Bracknell. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on laboratory experience to take on greater technical responsibility, working with ELISA-based processes while supporting, training, and mentoring other technicians. The role combines practical laboratory work with troubleshooting, quality-focused documentation, and day-to-day technical support.
The Role
Working alongside the Analytical Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for the testing and evaluation of antigens, antibodies, raw materials, and in-process materials used within ELISA production.
As a Senior Analytical Technician, you’ll also be a key point of contact for other technicians, providing practical guidance, training, and support when technical issues arise. You’ll have the opportunity to use your experience to help maintain high laboratory standards and deputise for the Analytical Supervisor when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
