Recently named UK Packaging Company of the Year, Kite Packaging is a £200 million, employee-owned business with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a results-driven culture. Operating from 9 sites across the UK, Kite is committed to innovation and excellence, with our core technology team - including IT, software development, data analytics, and Dynamics 365 Platforms - playing a central role in our continued growth.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced data professional who wants to take ownership of our Fabric platform and ensure that data analytics delivers business results. You will own our data platform and analytics suite from end-to-end working on engineering, modelling, analytics and data visualisations. This is a strategic role that enables reporting and decision improvements across Kite.
Last year Kite invested in an entire overhaul of all technology systems and implemented Microsoft Fabric, the infrastructure is now well established, and ready for someone to take to the next level.
You'll be the go-to expert for our lakehouse/warehouse architecture, semantic models, and the pipelines that keep data flowing reliably across the business.
This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role - you won't be managing people, but you will set technical direction, define standards, review the team's work, and be the escalation point for the most complex data engineering problems.
You will have experience of working with the Microsoft stack of technology and have a core skillset in SQL and Python, whilst also having the ability to influence your colleagues and drive action.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
