Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in London for a Senior Android Developer. The Senior Android Developer will design, build, and maintain advanced Android applications that integrate with Insightful Technology’s SaaS and data platforms. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define requirements, implement features, and optimise performance.
  • Writing clean, testable code, conducting code reviews, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring applications meet security, usability, and accessibility standards.
  • Contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring less experienced developers, and staying current with emerging Android technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Mobile Application Development and experience delivering production-grade Mobile Applications.
  • Proficiency in Android Development and Android Design, including modern UI frameworks and design guidelines.
  • Solid background in Software Development, including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and testing.
  • Experience integrating Android apps with RESTful APIs, cloud-based services, and secure data storage.
  • Familiarity with Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, and common libraries and tools (e.g., Jetpack components, Gradle).
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Track record of mentoring or leading other developers and contributing to architecture and code quality standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
