About Venn Apps

In the world of e-commerce, your unique brand identity is your most valuable asset. At Venn Apps, using our Software-as-a-Service platform, we build incredible e-commerce mobile apps for Shopify merchants. Our apps bring brands to life and ensure businesses can provide the best shopping experiences to their mobile customers.

Our team has over three decades collective experience creating B2C apps that have scaled to millions of users. We work closely with Shopify and in the last 7 years have developed a truly global portfolio of clients including Motel Rocks, BABYBOO, Toteme, Astrid & Miyu, Cole Buxton and ANINE BING and various other international retailers in the US, EU and Australia.

The role

Senior Android Developers at Venn Apps are responsible for our core Kotlin codebase that allows us to spin up e-commerce apps at scale. We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our team and take our existing portfolio of Android apps to the next level while also creating apps for new clients.

You will be working closely with our in-house design team and in charge of everything Android – from creating brand new apps to refreshing the look and feel or adding new features to our existing apps.

All of our apps are written in clean, modern Kotlin and built with Jetpack Compose (Material 3) for the UI. They follow a modularised architecture and use dependency injection with Hilt (Dagger). Asynchronous work is handled primarily with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, and networking uses Retrofit and OkHttp with kotlinx.serialization. We rely on Firebase, Room and Jetpack DataStore for persistence, Sentry for crash reporting, and integrate a wide range of 3rd party providers on a client-by-client basis. Our apps are white-label, built from a single codebase. We use CircleCI with Fastlane for our continuous integration and delivery, and enforce code quality with detekt and ktlint.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
