Your new role

We're looking for a Senior Android Engineer to play a key role in shaping and evolving high-quality mobile applications within a fast-paced digital engineering environment. This is an opportunity to help drive technical excellence, influence architecture decisions, mentor fellow engineers, and deliver exceptional mobile experiences that create real value for customers.

Working within a collaborative Mobile Engineering team, you'll combine hands-on development with technical leadership, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned to business objectives.

As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll take ownership of complex mobile initiatives from discovery through to delivery. You'll work closely with Product, Design and Engineering teams to define solutions, guide technical direction, and champion best practices across Android development.

This role offers the chance to influence both the technology and the people around you, helping to raise engineering standards whilst delivering impactful features at pace.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential

  • Significant experience building and delivering native Android applications.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience leading the technical delivery of features or projects from concept through to release.
  • Strong understanding of mobile architecture and modern engineering principles.
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Passion for delivering products that solve genuine customer problems.
  • Strong testing practices with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Experience identifying and managing technical dependencies, risks and constraints.
  • Ability to define, measure and improve engineering quality metrics.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Exposure to or experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
  • Experience working within large-scale Agile product teams.
  • Previous involvement in evolving mobile engineering standards and best practices.
