Job Title: Senior Application Developer - Legacy.NET Framework
Job Location: Birmingham, UK/ Hybrid
Job Type: FTE
Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Developer to perform maintenance and enhancement of enterprise applications built using ASP.NET MVC,.NET Framework and SQL Server. The role will involve working across the development lifecycle - impact analysis, defect analysis, minor enhancements, technical debt and coordination with development and infrastructure teams.
The successful candidate should have strong experience developing in legacy web applications and be comfortable working with frontend technologies such as jQuery and Razor Pages.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhancement of applications developed using: ASP.NET MVC Framework,.NET Framework, Razor Pages, jQuery and SQL Server
- Analyse, design, development and unit testing for minor changes, technical debts and application defects.
- Work across the presentation, business, data-access layers and database.
- Investigate application logs, stack traces, database issues, and integration failures.
- Support REST-based integrations and troubleshoot API-related issues.
- Collaborate with support, database, infrastructure, and business teams.
- Participate in agile ceremonies as part of the development methodologies
- Experience working in Scrum and Kanban teams
- Prepare technical documentation, knowledge articles and support procedures.

Mandatory Skills
- Strong experience with ASP.NET MVC Framework.
- Strong experience of development using jQuery, SQL Server and Razor Pages / Razor-based views
- Good experience with .NET Framework
- Strong knowledge of: C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Strong experience of working in agile teams
- Expertise in using tools like Jira or ADO
- Understanding of MVC architecture, session management, authentication, and authorization.
- Expertise in SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with debugging tools, application logs, and performance analysis.

Secondary Skills
- Good understanding of Insurance domain.
- Familiarity with Knockout.js.
- REST and SOAP web services.
- IIS administration and deployment troubleshooting.
- Entity Framework or equivalent ORM technology.
- Windows services and scheduled jobs.
- Azure DevOps, TFS, or similar source-control and deployment tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Angular.
Experience and Qualifications
- 5 to 8 years of experience in ASP.NET MVC Framework application development or application support.
- Good understanding of Scrum and Kanban process with experience working in agile teams
