SENIOR NODE.JS DEVELOPER
LOCATION
United Kingdom (fully remote)
PAY
£75,000 to £80,000 per annum (£38.46 to £41.03 per hour equivalent at 37.5 hours)
CONTRACT
Permanent, full-time
REPORTING TO
Engineering Manager (client side)
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Node.js Developer designs and builds scalable backend services in Node.js and TypeScript within a microservices architecture, taking responsibility for delivery and quality as part of an Agile product engineering team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop scalable server-side applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Take backend features from design through to production-ready delivery.
- Build and maintain microservices.
- Write unit and integration tests to maintain software quality and reliability.
- Work within established development, documentation and deployment processes.
- Contribute to improvements across coding standards and engineering practices.
- Work collaboratively as part of an Agile software development team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Commercial server-side development experience.
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript experience.
- Experience working with microservices architectures.
- Unit and integration testing experience.
- SQL and/or NoSQL database experience.
- An understanding of CI/CD principles.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fully remote environment.
- The right to work in the UK.

DESIRABLE
- NestJS.
- AWS or another cloud platform.
- Message brokers such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ or NATS.
- gRPC.
- OAuth2 or AWS Cognito.
